Star Citizen system requirements: A few people standing around a run-down alleyway.

Star Citizen minimum system requirements

Here are all of the Star Citizen minimum requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10
  • CPU: Quad Core CPU – Intel: Sandy Bridge / AMD: Bulldozer or later
  • GPU: DirectX 11.1 compatible Graphics Card with 3 GB VRam
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Storage: 8 GB

Here are all of the Star Citizen recommended requirements:

  • OS: Windows 10 / Windows 11
  • CPU: Quad Core CPU – Intel: Sandy Bridge / AMD: Bulldozer or later
  • GPU: DirectX11 compatible Graphics Card with 4 GB+ VRam
  • Memory: 16 GB+ DDR4
  • Storage: 83 GB+ SSD

Unfortunately, if you’re a MacOS or Linux player, then you’re out of luck, as Star Citizen is currently not available on those operating systems. Naturally, the recommended system requirements are a baseline, and if you have better components, you will get better performance and higher FPS while playing Star Citizen

We would suggest that the main things to focus on are making sure you have the right CPU requirements like an AMD Ryzen card and a decent graphics card like an Nvidia GeForce RTX. As well as that, having enough GB of space free to install it is of course a must, and we’d recommend an SSD over an HDD.

That’s everything you need to know about the Star Citizen system requirements. With system requirements out of the way, be sure to take a look at all the best graphics settings for Star Citizen to make it look and run as good as possible.
