South of Midnight is an atmospheric adventure game developed by Compulsion Games and published by Xbox Game Studios. Set in a dark fairytale version of the American South, the game combines elements of exploration, storytelling, and survival, while immersing players in a rich folkloric world. Players will navigate through the game’s stop-motion world while encountering mysterious creatures, unique characters, and uncovering secrets about the protagonist’s family past hidden in the depths of the wilderness. South of Midnight is going to be released on April 8, 2025. Players who have pre-purchased the Premium Edition will be able to start five days earlier, on April 3. There is no information about the game’s release time at the moment. However, we will update you as soon as new information becomes available.

Which platforms is South of Midnight releasing on?

South of Midnight is going to be released on PC through Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S. South of Midnight will also be available on the Xbox Game Pass from day one. The game will start our as an Xbox exclusive, so it’s not known whether the game will be ported to PlayStation at a later date.

South of Midnight Editions and pre-order bonus

South of Midnight will be released in Standard and Premium Editions. Players who pre-order the Premium Edition will additionally get five days of early access. The Standard Edition comes with just the base game and costs $39.99 USD. Meanwhile, the Premium Edition costs $49.99 USD and comes with the following:
