MW2 fans vent over huge Season 5 Reloaded update size

The much anticipated Season 5 Reloaded update is live and although it comes with new maps, modes, weapons and even operator skins, many players are missing out on the fun due to the large update size.

Many have reported update sizes above 100GB while some have complained of being unable to download the update altogether. If you were able to update, then check out all the new game modes in Season 5 Reloaded. Until then, here’s what fans are saying about the game’s large update size. 

MW2 and Warzone Season 5 Reloaded update size

The new update size is 53GB which has raised eyebrows amongst the CoD community. Some players have taken to the official MW2 Subreddit to vent over the update size with one Reddit user saying 53GB is, “A brand new game for an update file.” 

Another user ‘abarney09‘ claimed they had to download the multiplayer and warzone update separately after downloading the standard update. 

And although the update size is showing as 53GB for most players, one Reddit user ‘BuyEmergency946‘ said, “Mine is 60GB for some reason” and later commented that they’re playing the game on PlayStation 5. 

Some Reddit users have suggested that the huge update size could be the game’s developer, “Re-arranging or replacing some of the game files with newer and lighter versions to reduce the total amount of space taken by the game.” 

So while it’s likely that the update will replace some files with newer and better optimised versions, some players have shared getting as large as 138GB update size.

All platforms now have access to the Season 5 Reloaded update and can join the action in multiplayer as soon as they update the game.
