Wacky sci-fi action adventure sequel Revenge of the Savage planet is launching on two of the trifecta of consoles – PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, including Game Pass – but what about the aging Nintendo Switch? The original launched on Switch, albeit a few months after all other platforms, so there’s a reasonable expectation that the sequel will follow suit.

We’re unfortunately here to report that it’s bad news for those hoping to play on Nintendo’s console – Revenge of the Savage Planet isn’t coming to Switch or at least there aren’t any confirmed or even rumoured plans for a future port. In this guide, we’ll walk you through Revenge of the Savage Planet sidestepping a Nintendo Switch release.

Is Revenge of the Savage Planet releasing on Switch?

No, Revenge of the Savage Planet isn’t releasing on Switch. Developer Raccoon Logic hasn’t made a peep about a Switch version of the game while making the usual song and dance about the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions. The writing is on the wall then. The logic’s pretty sound if you ask us. Nintendo’s console is on the way out and the aging hardware will likely have a hard time coughing up reasonable frame rates to make the game anywhere near enjoyable.

While it’s not looking good, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 seems far more likely, but given the game releases before the console’s official launch, we won’t see it until a few months from now if it’s even in the works. We’d wager that the game’s critical and commercial success will determine whether the time and resources are invested into a port.

The original Journey to the Savage Planet developed a bit of a cult following, so there’s a good chance the sequel might follow in the same footsteps, prompting a port to Switch 2 sometime in the future. This is purely speculative and nothing’s been officially announced, so don’t hold your breath, but there is a glimmer of hope for those wanting to play on Nintendo’s new hybrid console.
