Persona 5 Tactica – how to complete Quest 5 Operation BOOM

Persona 5 Tactica Quest 5 tasks you with executing Erina’s plan to bring the fight to Marie. She wants to steal Marie’s explosives and turn them against her. However, once you reach the combat arena, you only have three turns to defeat all the enemies and complete Operation BOOM. Easier said than done.

Team composition

Both Morgana and Erina are locked picks for Operation BOOM, leaving you with a single Phantom Thief slot to fill. The arena is peppered with explosive barrels, so to make the most of these, we recommend a thief with Persona skills with a wide area of effect. Though there are other options, we’re partial to choosing Ann due to her multi-shot gun and Agi Personal skill. The latter is particularly potent when upgraded with its wide target area.

Avoid the barrels

When positioning your thieves between turns, make sure they aren’t standing in the blast zone of any the barrels scattered around the arena.

How to beat Persona 5 Tactica Quest 5

Here’s a step-by-step walkthrough to beat Quest 5:

• Switch to Morgana and use a melee attack to get the left-most enemy out of cover.
• Switch to Erina and move close to the defenceless enemy, then use her gun attack to get a One More Attack and set up a Triple Threat. Position her as far left of the central tower as possible.
• Switch to Ann then move her as far right and forward from the central tower as you can.

• Switch back to Erina and unleash the Triple Threat on all the enemies in the bottom portion of the arena.

• Switch to Ann and use her Agi Persona skill on the enemies grouped near the tower.

• Sticking with Ann for turn 2, move her forward then unleash Agi in roughly the same spot to thin down enemy health and ideally take out the larger one.
• Switch to Erina and use her gun attack on the enemy near the lone barrel at the back of the arena to get a One More Attack and set up another Triple Threat. Move her to where the enemy was standing previously.
• Switch to Morgana and position her so that the Triple Threat triangle covers as many of the remaining enemies as possible.

• Switch back to Erina and use Triple Threat.
• If there are any stragglers left, switch to Morgana and take them out using either her gun or Persona skill.
• If need be, you can use turn 3 to mop up any remaining enemies.

After some dialogue, you’ll return to the Hideout, rewarded with 200 GP for Erina, Morgana, and Ann or whichever thief you choose to draft in for Persona 5 Tactica Quest 5 Operation BOOM. Completing Quest 5, the last in Kingdom 1 also unlocks the ability to fuse the Persona Principality.
