Whether you want to link up with friends or fancy a change, Once Human’s world hopping feature is a nifty little quality-of-life feature. It’s worth noting that the game operates on servers that are divided into several worlds. You can swap worlds but not servers.
We’ll walk you through how to change worlds, which is possible fairly early on in the game with only a little push into the main story tutorial. If you want to take your base with you, we have a dedicated guide detailing how to move your Territory.
How to switch worlds in Once Human
Before you can change worlds, you’ll first need to progress the story until you reach the open world. Once there, seek out a Teleportation tower. We’ve noted the location of all the towers in the starting Dayton Wetlands area in the image above. You can also use the tower in Deadsville, the region’s main hub settlement, which you’ll reach by following the Eve of Evolution main story quest.
Approach the tower’s control panel, and tap G. This will bring up a list of all available worlds on your server along with their respective population levels. Click on the world you want to switch to then hold down the F key. You’ll then be immediately taken to the new world.
Note that there is no loading screen, just a quick flash and a confirmation message at the top of the screen. If the world isn’t to your liking, you can easily return to your old one, but following the same process.
How to change servers in Once Human
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to switch servers and keep your current character and progress intact. To change servers, you’ll have to create a brand new character profile from the main menu. When doing this, make sure to select a different server, or the one where you’re hoping to join up and play on with friends.
