If you’ve ever played any Pokémon game, you know the feeling of wanting to get past the most basic Pokémon at the start of the game. Well, those are known as Normal-type Pokémon. Normal-type Pokémon are pretty common in the franchise, second only to Water and Grass-type Pokémon. However, many Pokémon trainers want to know the strengths and weaknesses of their Normal-type Pokémon before they go head-first into battle. If you’re such a trainer, then you’ve landed on the right page!

Normal-type Pokémon strengths

If you’re in a battle and want to know where your Normal-type Pokémon will deal the most damage or benefit you the most, the simple answer to that is that it won’t. Yes, Normal-type Pokémon have no strengths, nor are they Super Effective against any other Pokémon type. None. Instead, they have one plus point (if you would consider it to be a plus point) that they are resistant to Ghost-type Pokémon.

Normal-type Pokémon weaknesses

In terms of weaknesses, Normal-types have a few. For example, Normal-type Pokémon are Weak against Rock and Steel-types. This means that Normal-types do half damage when up against Rock and Steel-types. Moreover, normal attacks have no effect on Ghost-type Pokemon, who are essentially immune to the Normal-type. When on defense, Normal-types are vulnerable to Fighting-type attacks. Other than this, They generally have the lowest physical and special defense throughout the whole franchise. Here is a chart to help you better understand the strengths and weaknesses of your Normal-type Pokémon:

What are Normal-type Pokémon?

Normal-type Pokémon are the most basic type of Pokémon found in the whole franchise. These Pokemon have only a single type and are rarely paired up with other Pokemon types to make a dual-type Pokemon. However, when they are, they’re usually found cross-bred with the Flying-type. Normal-type Pokémon really don’t have anything special about them, they’re just there. Snorlax, for example, seems like the most Normal among the Normal-type Pokémon, lacking any real offensive or defensive attributes.

Final Thoughts

Well, not every Pokémon has to be good at everything; some can just lay around and be cute. We shall not expect so much from Snorlax and the rest of the Normal-type Pokémon, although they seldom disappoint in battle.
