NBA 2K24: How to face scan with MyNBA 2K24 app

NBA 2K24 is back with MyPLAYER and MyCAREER. The hit game modes allow you to create a brand new NBA player and live out their dreams. In 2K24, you’re tasked with climbing the ladder and becoming the greatest player of all time. This can be done with a completely random created player, but most gamers like modeling it after themselves. At the very least, they like it to look like them. Here’s how to face scan to make that happen.

How do I face scan for NBA 2K24?

Face scan can be accomplished in the NBA 2K24 companion app. This app can do a lot of things, but it is mostly known as the NBA 2K24 face scan app. To find it, go to your iOS App Store, Android device Google Play Store, or wherever you get mobile apps and input the term “MyNBA 2K” in the search bar. The first result should be the MyNBA 2K Companion App. Download that and wait for it to install.

You may have had the companion app for 2K23, which effectively became obsolete when the new game came out on September 8th. This app will not work. It’s a brand new app for 2K24, so delete the old one and download the newest one.

The MyNBA 2K24 app will then ask you to log in. Be sure to log in for the correct MyPLAYER account platform. For PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, you log in with your PSN ID. For Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, your Xbox Live login will work. On Nintendo Switch, your Nintendo account is connected. On PC, do it with your Steam credentials.

From there, you can click to scan your face. This is the primary function of the app and is not hard to find from the main menu. When you do, it will prompt you to put your face in the middle of the screen and use the camera. Be sure not to move the camera, but only your head. Any motion blur will negatively affect your outcome.

Before doing this, ensure there is good lighting. Any shadows will affect the face scan. Unless you’d like it to look like you have multi-colored skin or have facial scarring, find the best lighting before completing this. Direct light is good to avoid any shadows, but don’t allow a glare on the camera.

Furthermore, do not wear any hats or glasses. Even if you require corrective lenses like myself, your MyPLAYER will have to wear contacts or goggles. Glasses will mess with the scan, and hats will make the results weird, too.

You can then hold the front-facing camera at eye level and follow the directions. To get a full understanding of your facial shape and features, it will have you look from side to side. Follow all the instructions on the bottom of the screen to finish this part of the process.

After that, it will run a quality check. If the scan is good enough, it can be sent to the game. If not, you will need to do it again. Try better lighting or a different position if it didn’t work the first time. Upload from the app and it will be waiting for you in 2K.

How do I import face scan to NBA 2K24 from MyNBA 2K24 app?

When you’re in NBA 2K24 on whatever console you play on, go ahead and start a new MyPLAYER from the MyPLAYER tab. There, one of the first choices you have from the Nav menu is the appearance option. This is where you can change how you look, and you can either start from scratch or select appearance from the facial scan you just took.

Do this by selecting “Check for Head Scan Data”. Provided it uploaded correctly, this will be waiting for you. Your own player will look like you, and we were impressed at how accurate the scan was.

NBA 2K24, which has Kobe Bryant on the cover, allows you to fully customize even if you used the face scan. If you feel that your nose is too big, you can edit that. If you want to add a beard you don’t have right now, you could do that as well. You can edit from there and add facial features and make it as perfect as you’d like.

Your MyPLAYER’s appearance can be whatever you want. MyPLAYER creation is impressive in that regard. Basketball enthusiasts and fans of the game will have a great gaming experience in having a player that looks just like them on the court with true NBA superstars.

The app you just downloaded doesn’t become useless after this, though. The MyNBA 2K Companion App can be used to input locker codes, find out current news in the game, look at the schedule in The City, and watch 2KTV episodes.
