Now that Fantasy Flight Games’ latest TCG has launched, here are the most expensive Star Wars: Unlimited cards so far.
Most trading card games see extraordinarily valuable cards for a number of reasons. Firstly, there’s usually a very limited amount of those specific cards in circulation as foils and showcase cards are printed pretty seldom. On top of that, there’s also the likelihood that certain sets will go out of print quickly. Since this is the very first Star Wars: Unlimited set – and if this TCG is really going to take off – many of these cards will be first editions and will prove to be highly valuable in the future.

In line with the stock issues that Star Wars: Unlimited has initially faced, many of the most expensive cards are also near-impossible to get a hold of. There are a few that are available, though there’s next to no chance you will be able to pick up any Showcase cards.

Sales on TCGPlayer have fluctuated anywhere between $300-$600, which is an extraordinary price range for the most expensive card in the whole Star Wars: Unlimited TCG. The reason that the card is so valuable isn’t necessarily because it gives you in-game tactical advantages, but rather the fact that the Showcase card variant is so hard to come by.
Emperor Palpatine – Galactic Ruler #257 (Showcase)
The same applies to this Emperor Palpatine card, valuable and rare thanks to its nature of being a Showcase card. It features fantastic artwork from James Daly, and is also double sided. The ordinary side displays Palpatine in his throne room, illustrated with comic-style artwork to a fine degree. The other side shows off a wider shot of the same artwork.
Leia Organa – Alliance General #260 (Showcase)
Fans of the Star Wars franchise as a whole will all feel some affinity for this card. Leia is hands down one of the most popular characters in the entire series, and this card captures her Leader ferocity to a tee. This time illustrated by Ann Maulina, this card has wavered in price drastically since the game’s launch.
Han Solo – Audacious Smuggler #367 (Showcase)
Following Leia keenly is Han Solo, whose Showcase card wobbles between $300 and $400 at times.The card features a little bit more of rendered artwork compared to others, capturing the intensity and character of Han Solo well. This card’s price median price has dipped recently, though it’s likely to spike as the game continues growing.
Sabine Wren – Galvanized Revolutionary #264 (Showcase)
Sabine Wren, a character introduced long after the original Star Wars films, is another card that’s fetching a high price on TCGPlayer at the moment. As expected from a character known for vibrant colours and artwork, the cover of the Sabine card is packed with contrasting hues and an animated appearance. Illustrated by Robynn Frauhn, the Sabine Wren Showcase card will cost you up to $250 in most cases.
