With the early access start time for MK1 approaching, many out there are curious about whether or not you’re going to be able to preload the game. Especially considering the whopping Mortal Kombat 1 download size, we’re going to hope that pre-downloading the game is a possibility.

Can you preload Mortal Kombat 1?
You will be able to preload Mortal Kombat 1. The PS5 version of the game has been confirmed to have a preload beginning on September 12th, as per this Reddit comment:
With that in mind – it seems extremely likely that PC and Xbox versions of the game will also feature a similar preload capability.
However, it’s not quite as clear-cut when preloads are set to begin for those platforms.
Mortal Kombat 1 preload start predictions
We imagine that the preload for Mortal Kombat 1 will begin 48 hours before the early access kicks off. This should give all players the time to download the game, despite the likely large install size.
PS5 players are confirmed to have a preload beginning on September 12th, and it’s likely that Xbox players will see this too.
If you’re on Steam, it’s likely that you’re going to have a little less time to preload the game, with a 24 hour preload window often being offered on most PC games.
