- You can appear offline by changing your status on Playstation, Xbox, Steam and Battle.net.
Appearing offline can be rather handy in MW3. Sometimes, you just want to get on and play by yourself and ignore anyone else. There may be someone you don’t want to play with, or you might just want to remain unseen. On consoles and sometimes even within games, there is an online status associated with your account. Fortunately, you can change this setting to play solo matches or with randoms in peace. Here’s how you can do so.
Can you appear offline?
Yes, you can appear offline by changing your status. The steps are different depending on the platform you are playing on. Offline status can be activated on Steam, Battle.net, Playstation and Xbox.
Appear offline on Steam
Hiding your status on the Steam client is fairly simple if you want to play something by yourself.
- Open Steam and head to the Friends category. It’s at the top of the app.
- In the drop-down menu, head to Offline and select the option.
Appear offline on Battle.net
If you bought MW3 on Activision-Blizzard’s platform, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to appear offline to friends on Battle.net:
- Open the application and click on your profile icon. It’s in the top righthand corner of the screen.
- Here, select “Appear Offline” in the drop-down menu that pops up.
Appear offline on PlayStation
If you’re on PS4 or PS5, here’s how you can show up as offline:
- From the home screen, select your profile.
- Then change your Online status. Select the “Appear Offline” option.
Appear offline on Xbox
Just like all the other platforms, appearing offline on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S is fairly straightforward:
- From the Xbox home screen, head to your profile.
- Select the “Appear Online” option and then pick “Appear Offline.”
