Does Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater have multiplayer? Answered

Wondering if you can jump into Konami’s Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater remake for a spot of multiplayer fun? Though the original launched as purely solo experience, a much-loved online multiplayer component called Metal Gear Online was released along the enhanced Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence with various game modes for up to eight players, including deathmatch, capture the flag, and more.

Can you play Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater in multiplayer?

As it stands, the answer is no, you can’t play Solid Delta Snake Eater in multiplayer but not for long. Konami has announced a post-release mode called Fox Hunt. Scheduled for release in Autumn 2025, Fox Hunt is an online multiplayer mode. While it shares the same world as MGS Delta, Fox Hunt offers completely different gameplay. It still employs the same stealth, infiltration, and camouflage fundamentals of the base game but brings the tension of hide-and-seek to a whole new level.

Here’s the official blurb from Konami: “An all-new online multiplayer mode, set in the same world as the main story. This new mode makes use of stealth and survival elements to deliver exciting hide-and-seek-style back-and-forth gameplay.” 

Beyond that, details are pretty sparse. There’s been no word on player counts of whether there will be multiple modes. We can expect more insights and footage as we get closer to release, which isn’t all that far off.
