Want to know how to kill The End early in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater? Part of the reason MGS 3 was so prized back in 2004 was linked to how there’s no set way to complete objectives. This includes not just traversing areas, but also how you deal with the Cobras, including The End.
By killing him early, you can completely avoid a testing boss fight later on, though it’s easy to miss and requires some quick reactions. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to kill The End early in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater.
How to avoid The End boss fight in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater
To kill The End early, you’ll need to progress the story until you reach Ponizovje South after defeating The Pain in the Chyornaya Peschera Cave. Ponizovje South, you’ll see two paths, one going north and the other west. Take the one going west to enter Ponizovje West. Climb onto the dock and go through the doorway at the back to pick up the Dragunov Sniper Rifle. Open up your survival viewer, select the backpack, then tick the sniper so you can equip it easily.
Head back to Ponizovje South and take the path north into Ponizovje Warehouse: Exterior. This will trigger a cut scene featuring Volgin, Sokolov, Ocelot, and Tanya. The End and The Fear will then make an appearance. Everyone will leave and the cut scene will end, leaving The End and a lone guard. As soon as the cut scene ends, equip the sniper, aim at The End and fire off as many shots as you can as he’s wheeled into the warehouse to kill him. The Early End and The End trophies should pop to confirm he’s dead.
While doing this does avoid the boss fight proper, it does mean you won’t be able to crab the Moss Camo, so weigh this up when deciding whether it’s worth taking out the old man early. If you do decide to keep him alive, there’s another way to kill him without a fight. Save the game at the start of the boss fight, exit the game, then reload the save seven real-world days later (you can tinker with your PCs date and time to expedite this). In the intervening time, The End will have passed on, his old age catching up with him.
