With Marvel Rivals Season 3 coming soon, it appears that Phoenix will be released as a new hero. Jean Grey has been one of the most popular Marvel characters for decades, so adding her to the game makes sense. Her abilities have already been leaked, and that will be the focus of this article.
Season 3 will also feature Blade, if leaks turn out to be accurate. Considering that Blade is a Duelist, there is a chance that Phoenix will take on a Strategist role. One of these characters will come out on the first day of the season, while another will be released with a mid-season update in August.
Phoenix abilities in Marvel Rivals
According to leaks, Phoenix will have two forms in Marvel Rivals, similar to Emma Frost, another popular mutant. The character will have a human form and a Phoenix form, with each having unique abilities. At the moment, it’s unknown how she will switch forms. While this process might be simple, like with Cloak & Dagger, she may also transform into the Phoenix form only after dying.
These are the leaked Phoenix abilities in both forms:
Human Form | Phoenix Form |
---|---|
Psychic Explosion | Phoenix Shadow |
Telekinetic Explosion | Phoenix Ray |
Telekinetic Transfer | Phoenix Punishment |
Psychokinetic Transfer | Phoenix Wings Flying |
Shattered Star Impact | Phoenix Elegy |
Considering that Phoenix is an Omega-Level mutant, we expect her kit to be quite complex, making her at least a 3-star character. Furthermore, some leaks claim that the upcoming Marvel Rivals hero will have the ability to mute heroes, preventing them from casting abilities. This mechanic would be somewhat similar to Emma Frost’s ultimate ability, although Phoenix is rumored to use this feature more frequently.
The release date of Phoenix in Marvel Rivals is currently unknown. However, Blade will likely drop on the first day of Season 3. This suggests that the mutant may arrive with a mid-season content update sometime in mid-August 2025.
