When are pets coming to inZOI?

Wondering when pets are coming to inZOI? Despite the presence of pet furniture, cats in the opening cinematic, and no shortage of animals roaming the city streets, there’s currently no way to adopt a furry friend and have it roam your carefully-curated home.

There’s hope though as the presence of these imply that it’s only a matter of time. And KRAFTON has confirmed as much. Can you have pets in inZOI?

No, as it stands, pets are not a feature in KRAFTON’s sims-like. However, according to an AMA held on February 28th, 2025, on the official Discord server, pets are in the pipeline and marked as a ‘high priority for future updates.’ The developer noted that pets ‘require extensive development for proper interactions’, hence why they aren’t in the game for the early access launch. Beyond that there are no firm details around when we’ll see pets arrive in inZOI, but they are on the way.

If we dip into some speculation, the Kucingku DLC, which is set for August 2025, seems like a likely conduit for the introduction of pets. It centres around a brand new beach-side city. Kucingku translates to Cat Island in Indonesian, giving us a pretty implicit hint about the nature of the new city, but also the likely arrival of animal interactions. 

Again, this is speculative, so we’ll have to wait for firmer confirmation from KRAFTON. Either way, the DLC will be free and all inZOI players will get access to pets if they arrive alongside the new city. It could be that the DLC only introduces interactions with cats in the city and actually adopting them won’t arrive until later on.

We also wouldn’t put it past modders conjuring up something to tide players over before the official pets feature is patched in. There’s already a growing library of tweaks, improvements, and changes courtesy of the best inZOI mods.

How to add animals to your city in inZOI

For the time being, you can still populate your inZOI city with animals. You just can’t interact with them, so they very much play a decorative role in the current early access build.

To add animals to your city, tap the Edit City icon in the bottom-right of the screen, or tap M on your keyboard. Select the City Appearance tab and then Animals along the top of the screen. You can then select three animal types (cats, dogs, pandas, deer, raccoons, squirrels, foxes, alligators) and adjust their density in the city between none and high. They are decorative but they do add a bit of life to the place. They can’t do any harm when it comes to city Karma either, as they make it a more welcoming place to live for your Zois.
