Does inZOI use AI? Explained

Fans of life sim games can rarely get enough customization options, be that textures, furniture, or the ability to trick out their characters. InZOI leverages custom AI technology to provide players with a host of features, such as the ability to create 3D-printed objects, design custom textures, and add unique poses and dance motions to Zois. How does inZOI use AI?

InZOI uses innovative AI to allow players unprecedented customization options. From custom textures to emotes and everything in between, the opportunities are endless. This might be a concern for some, similar to the previous use of Denuvo, leading to official statements from Krafton regarding the practice. 

During a Discord AMA Session on February 28, 2025, the devs have confirmed that all art assets being used come from Krafton’s other games, including PUBG. In addition, Krafton has posted an official disclosure regarding the use of AI on inZOI’s Steam page, which reads: 

“Players can generate unique textures for character outfits and various items based on text input. They can also create 3D objects from image input, which can be used as interior decorations or accessories, and add distinctive motions to their Zoi using video input. Additionally, the actions and thoughts of Zois are controlled through sLM technology, enabling more engaging and intuitive interactions. “

Create custom textures using text inputs

In Create-A-Zoi and Build Mode, players can generate custom textures for their Zois and in-game items using text input. These textures can be applied to Zoi clothing or used to replace existing textures on furniture and decorations. This feature allows for a higher level of personalization, making each Zoi and item in the game as unique as possible.

3D Printer

The 3D Printer feature in inZOI uses AI to transform 2D images into 3D objects. These objects can be used as interior decorations, accessories, or other customizable items within the game, allowing players to add a personal touch to their in-game environments.

Smart Zoi Technology

Smart Zoi technology utilizes SLM (Small Language Model) technology to give Zois a sense of personality. At the end of each in-game day, the Inner Thoughts System analyzes the interactions that occurred and influences the Zois’ behaviour for the next day. This means that Zois’ personalities continuously evolve, which should lead to more dynamic and engaging characters.

Pose Generator for AI Emotes

The custom pose generator, also known as the AI Emote feature, uses AI to create unique poses for your Zois based on video or image input. Whether you’re creating dance motions or other custom poses, this feature allows you to fully customize your Zois’ movements and interactions.
