How to solve the tower puzzle in Greyveil Plaza

Before you get started with the tower puzzle, it’s important to know that you cannot complete this puzzle until you have the Refract Augment. The Refract Augment is an upgrade to the Disrupt spell which you can receive once obtaining the red totem later in the game’s story, during ‘The Binding Mark’ chapter. Once you’ve obtained the Refract Augment, return to Greyveil Plaza.

Greyveil Plaza tower puzzle solution

Here are the steps required to solve the tower puzzle:

1. Head over to the green block on the outer ring with circular markings on it. Use the lever here to move a stone hand which is holding a refract orb.
2. Shoot the blue crystal on the central tower to rotate the bottom section.
3. Shoot the green crystal to rotate the top section of the tower, activating one of the nearby platforms and turning the refract orb green.
4. Stand facing the raised platform with the refract orb between you, and use Disrupt on the orb, making the beam split to hit the two eyes on the platform. This will activate the statue in the wall behind it.
5. Head to the red block on the outer ring and use the lever to move the refract orb again.
6. Shoot the red crystal on the tower to rotate the middle section, activating the other of the nearby platforms and turning the refract orb red.
7. Use Disrupt on the orb again, hitting the two eyes on this platform, and exposing the blue eyes high up on the wall.
8. Head to the blue block on the outer ring and activate this lever to move the refract orb for a final time.
9. Shoot the red, green, and blue crystals on the tower in that order to rotate each section, turning the refract orb blue.
10. Use Disrupt on the orb again to hit the blue eyes at the top of the wall.

Greyveil Plaza tower puzzle rewards

Once you’ve completed the puzzle, the tower will then sink into the ground, and will be replaced by a unique Shroudfane. Heading inside will lead you to the Den of Azza-Kel, where you will have the chance to take on a boss fight versus the eponymous magnus Azza-Kel. 

Beating Azza-Kel will reward you with a chest containing 2,000 Arcanum to level up your Ascensions, and 1 Legendary Essence which is used in crafting and upgrading your Legendary gear.
