Sega and Creative Assembly’s upcoming team based shooter Hyenas is getting a closed beta, it’s been announced. So if you’re wondering when does the Hyenas closed beta start? You’re in the right place.
If you’re not up to speed, Hyenas is a hero based multiplayer “extraction shooter” for up to fifteen players in teams of three. They’ll have to set foot in arenas that are set in a space-station, meaning Zero-G is a huge factor. Their aim is to loot as much plunder as they can, defeat their opponents and make out with the loot. This loot – by the way – happens to also be made up of some cool retro kitsch, including Sega and Atari related things.
Following a number of early Alpha tests, Sega is now ready to allow more players to get their hands on the game in a closed beta test. Here’s what we know.
Hyenas Closed Beta start date
The Hyenas Closed Beta will start on August 31 and will end on September 11. At the current time, the beta is only for PC players, though the full game will launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
Hyenas Closed Beta – how to sign up
To sign up for the Hyenas closed beta, you’ll firstly need a Steam Account, sign up and install Steam here if you don’t have an account already.
Then, after signing up and signing in, head to the Hyenas Steam Store page. There you’ll see a button marked “Request Access” next to the box that says “Join the Hyenas Playtest.” Simply hit that button, and then it’s just a case of waiting by your inbox. You’ll get a notification through Steam and an email if you get in.
Hyenas Closed Beta – Specialists
The Hyenas closed beta will allow you to play as eight of the game’s hero characters, or Specialists as they are known. They are as follows:
- Mozie
- Digits
- Prima
- Commander Wright
- Hero-Ki
- El Silbon
- Doc Hotfix
- Galaxia
