The Rain Man is a Deviant in Once Human that’s used to continuously water crops and planter pots to ensure sustained growth and a reliable harvest of vegetables, fruits, and flowers. This little fella is must-have for anyone looking to sustain a serious farming operation. Here’s how to get Rain Man in Once Human.
Where to find Rain Man in Once Human
To get a Rain Man in Once Human, you’ll need to farm yellow raincoat-umbrella Rainfall Reaper enemies, who have a chance to drop the deviant. The drop chance, by our estimates, is roughly around 15%. Complicating matters is the fact that Rainfall Reapers don’t spawn all that often across the map and have a 10 minute respawn timer whenever they are killed. You can find Rainfall Reapers in these locations:
Coordinates | Location |
---|---|
5943, -7164 | Dock at Harborside in Broken Delta’s southwest corner. |
4922, -6172 | Northwest Sutherland Chemical Plant in Broken Delta. Climb the metal stairs to reach the top of the catwalk and you should see the Reaper near a storage chest and a Morphic Crate. |
1212, -3795 | Small rustic settlement south of the Evergreen Vineyard. It’s located in the centre of the settlement. |
If you’re farming fro Rain Man, you can drive between the first and second locations repeatedly while you wait for respawn timers. These two locations are only around 1.4 km apart, making it a few minutes drive each way to catch the next spawn. Note that the Rain Man drops in an enemy’s loot inventory rather that as a cube as you’d see when catching other deviant types.
How to use Rain Man in Once Human
The role of a Rain Man deviant is to water crops. They only water one crop, whether it’s a single crop or a planter. This spot will continuously have its water supply maintained and restored. Ideally, you want to use a crop that can benefit from a high level of water supply so it can grow rapidly. Combine it with light and the crop growth speed of a seed in that spot will be increase significantly.
The only issue with the Rain Man is that the deviant is easily replaced with irrigation systems. Players can unlock a memetic that allows them to get the Automatic Irrigation Facility. Hook it up to a water tank using the water pipe system and you’ll find that it can easily water crops for you. If you have an efficient water system, then the Rain Man is somewhat redundant.
