Marvel Rivals continues to grant players free skins, allowing them to personalize their favorite Marvel heroes without spending a dime. Among the notable rewards are the fan-favorite Lion’s Mane Star-Lord skin, obtained through the recent Fortune & Colors event, and the legendary Reborn from Ragnarok Thor skin, unlocked by completing the Midnight Features event in Season 1.
As Season 1: Eternal Night Falls progresses, all eyes are now on the upcoming Season 1.5 update, which promises to provide a new wave of content including two new heroes and a new map. Along with new content, many heroes have received some significant buffs and nerfs to balance the meta once again.
However, the update also brings another opportunity for players to get a free skin, this time with their beloved Guardians of the Galaxy member, Groot. Here’s how you can get the new Carved Traveler Groot skin for free in Marvel Rivals.
How to get Carved Traveler Groot costume for free in Marvel Rivals
To get the Carved Traveler Groot skin in Marvel Rivals Season 1.5, you’ll need to complete the Midnight Features II event challenges which will be released with the mid-season update on February 21, 2025. As Season 1 brought a Midnight Features I event where players were able to unlock the free Thor skin, you’ll be able to unlock this new Groot skin for free by completing event-based quests.
Once you’ve completed all the quests, you’ll be granted not just the skin, but four more cosmetic items, adding to a total of five unlockable rewards with the upcoming Midnight Features II event questline. These new questlines are based around rescuing the Vampire Slayer Blade from Dracula’s castle in the game.
While you’re unlocking the Groot skin, you can also unlock a free Human Torch costume in Marvel Rivals Season 1.5, while playing the competitive mode.
