As players don their robes and hats for their adventure in RPG Hogwarts Legacy, they may want to keep their ears open for some familiar voices.

That’s because Warner Bros and Avalanche have gotten themselves a fairly impressive cast to provide the voices for the various characters in the game – some of which you may recognise from your favourite TV shows and movies.

Who voices ‘Nearly Headless Nick’ in Hogwarts Legacy

‘Nearly Headless Nick’ who is a well known character in Hogwarts Legacy is voiced by Jason Anthony (see below for more) who has seen himself voice act in other games including Call of Duty and Warzone.

Simon Pegg as Headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black

Likely the most easily recognisable voice is that of Hogwarts headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black. He’s played by movie and TV star Simon Pegg.

He’s been in far too much to list here, but some highlights include the Mission Impossible series, cult UK sitcom Spaced and Edgar Wright directed comedies Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.

Sebastian Croft and Amelia Gething as the Player Character

The voices you’ll probably hear most often are that of your own character. While their details are, of course, customisable by you – Sebastian Croft provides ‘Voice 1’ and Amelia Gething is ‘Voice 2’.

Croft has already got a BAFTA under his belt, and has also had roles in Game of Thrones and Love, Death and Robots.

Gething is a writer and comedian who first rose to fame on Tiktok before getting her own self-titled BBC series – The Amelia Gething Complex.

Lesley Nicol as Professor Matilda Weasley

Lesley Nicol is the voice of Deputy Headmistress Professor Matilda Weasley. Acting as something of a mentor to the new students, she’s of course also a member of the fan-favourite Weasley family.

As an actress, Nicol has starred in a host of TV roles – with perhaps her most notable as Mrs Patmore in Downton Abbey, a role she also reprised for the 2019 movie of the same name.

Kandace Caine as Professor Onai

Professor Onai is a gifted Seer and is the holder of the position of Divination teacher in Hogwarts Legacy. She’s played by Kandace Caine, who’s already a fairly prolific voice actor in games, featuring most recently in last year’s Modern Warfare 2.

Although we were surprised to find out her IMDB page reveals she also had a role in The Human Centipede 2 Full Sequence back in 2011.

Sohm Kapila as Professor Satyavati Shah

In the game, Professor Shah was raised in the world of Muggles, but found her calling in the Wizarding World and eventually became Professor of Astronomy.

Outside of the game, Kapila is a BAFTA Newcomer class of 2021, with credits on a bunch of TV shows including The Morning Show for Apple TV and Crazy Ex Girlfriend to name but two.

Luke Youngblood as Everett Clopton

Everett Clopton is a Ravenclaw student you’ll meet in the game, who’s fond of a prank or two.

Fans of the movies will be pleased, as he’s voiced by Luke Youngblood who played Lee Jordan. While Clopton isn’t related to Jordan, long-time fans are sure to appreciate actor’s return.

Asif Ali as Amit Thakkar

Another Ravenclaw student, Thakkar is described as well-read, and loves the idea of heroism – but might not be ready to actually put himself in danger.

He’s voiced by Asif Ali, who’s making a name for himself in science fiction shows – with credits in WandaVision and The Mandalorian to name but two.

Jason Anthony as Nearly Headless Nick and The Sorting Hat

Finally, Jason Anthony is pulling double duty, voicing two characters that you’ll know from across the series: Nearly Headless Nick (played by John Cleese in the movies) and the Sorting Hat.

Anthony is another prolific voice actor in games, previously lending his voice to the 2019 Call of Duty Modern Warfare and the first Warzone. He’s also had roles in Diablo 3 and The Lego Movie 2: The Videogame.
