- Obtained by unlocking it through the Stratagem menu
- The Jump Pack is great for maneuverability
- Use the Jump Pack to launch yourself over obstacles
Helldivers 2 has some pretty fun stratagems that you can use during missions. One of the more amusing stratagems is the Jump Pack which allows you to jump high distances, making obstacles and enemies easy to manoeuvre. Just like with other Stratagems in the game, you need to unlock this one before you can start using it. Let’s break down how to get and use the Jump Pack in Helldivers 2 so you can traverse the game’s maps with ease.
How to get the Jump Pack in Helldivers 2
To unlock the Lift-850 Jump Pack, you need to buy the corresponding stratagem from the ship management menu. You need to be at least Level 8 to unlock it, and then spend 6000 Requisition Slips to purchase it. Once you’ve done that, you can call down a Jump Pack like you would with any other stratagem while in-game.
How to use Jump Pack in Helldivers 2
After you’ve bought the Jump Pack stratagem, call it down while you’re on a mission and wait for it to land. Equip it, and you’ll now be able to use your Jump Pack. Press and hold down X on PS5 or F on PC to jump into the air, engaging your thrusters and flying forward a short distance. This is a great boost to mobility and can help you get around a lot faster.
There are a few neat ways you can use the Jump Pack in-game. Naturally, the main way to use it is to fly forward or to reach high ground that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to. But it can also be used to descend from somewhere high up. By timing it properly while falling, you’ll reduce your falling speed and negate any fall damage you would have taken.
Another great way to use it is to avoid damage. If enemy Terminids or Automatons are nearing you, especially one that does melee damage, you can quickly use your Jump Pack to get out of the way. This is also great for escaping groups of enemies if you find yourself surrounded, potentially finding somewhere high up to clear them out.
One benefit of using it this way is that it can cluster a number of enemies close together. From there, you can throw in a grenade or orbital strike to take them all out in one go, turning the tide of battle immediately. Make sure you also consider using the Supply Pack as it is another useful tool.
