The Halloween event in Fortnite arrived on Thursday and brought many fantastic features. Epic Games added several horror icons to the game, including Ghostface, who is now a playable character. In addition, the game developer released a couple of free cosmetics that you can unlock for free for a limited time.
This guide will explain how you can unlock new Halloween cosmetics. Unfortunately, the new pickaxe and back bling are only available for a few days, giving you until Sunday, October 12, to add them to your locker. The best part? Unlocking these items will grant you a massive discount for an upcoming Fortnite skin!
How to get free Halloween cosmetics in Fortnite?
For a limited time, you can unlock two cosmetics in Fortnite by simply watching Twitch streams. This doesn’t require you to even launch the game, and you can do it from your mobile device. Once you’re done, you will add a new pickaxe and back bling to your locker.
To unlock these free items, you need to follow these steps:
- Log in to your Twitch account or create one
- Link your Twitch and Epic Games accounts
- Go to an eligible channel
- The channel must stream Fortnite and have Drops enabled
- Watch the stream for 30 minutes for the back bling
- Watch the stream for 60 minutes for the pickaxe
- Claim the free cosmetics from the Inventory page
