Reputation is Flintlock’s twist on the souls-like genre’s staple upgrade currency. We’re talking a rejigged take on souls and runes used to level up a character or beef up a weapon’s stats. Much like in other souls-adjacent games, Reputation is gained by defeating enemies and bosses. But, Flintlock switches it up with a multiplier mechanic that keeps ticking up as long as you don’t get hit by an enemy attack, leading to some chunky drops if you play a fight right.
But even the most skilled players will struggle to amass enough Reputation to fully upgrade all the weapon types without a spot of grinding. We’ll walk you through the best Reputation farming routes we’ve found so far.
Route 1 – Cape Reunion, Wanderer’s Rest
Start from the Lodestone in the south of Cape Reunion. Make your way northeast along the beach, killing the two enemies patrolling. Push north and loop back up the hill to the west and kill the two enemies walking up and down the ramp.
Go back down the ramp and climb up north to a pond. Here you’ll find three enemies – two standard mobs and a third elite enemy to defeat. Next, head into the forest to the north then go west, take out the three enemies patrolling the area near the cliffs then fast travel back to the start of the route and repeat. Each run should net you north of 4,000 Reputation if you avoid getting hit and keep that multiplier intact. Grabbing the Ancestor shrine just north of the starting Lodestone will boosts this further.
Route 2 – Garden Ravine, Wanderer’s Rest
Load into the Lodestone at the centre of the Garden Ravine. Step forward onto the pier to the east and jump into the pond ahead. There you’ll find a summoning enemy, who will spawn a wave of standard Dead mobs for you to chew through. Kill them all, then run around the pond to spawn successive waves of mobs.
There doesn’t appear to be a cap on the number of waves, so you can do this indefinitely (with or without the summoner still alive), stacking up a huge multiplier for a massive Reputation haul. You can improve the yield further by interacting with the nearby Ancestor shrine for a further multiplier boost. For about every 10 minutes in the pond, you should get anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 Reputation, depending on the multiplier.
