One of the best parts about Career Mode in FC 25 is being able to make a team your own, signing new players and really creating your own dream team with you at the helm. But we aren’t all Man City and we don’t all have the hundreds of millions to drop on our dream teams, meaning managing your budget is almost as important as your results on the pitch.

If you’re looking to free up some funds for a new transfer and can’t seem to find where the option to adjust your budget is, you’ve come to the right place as this guide will tell you everything you need to know.

Adjusting your budget in FC 25 Career Mode, explained

Anyone who played Career Mode back when FC was still FIFA will probably remember that there was a tool in the finances menu that you could use to manage your budget. In exchange for a lower wage budget, you could get a couple million more into your transfer budget and vice versa, giving you a bit of extra control over your team’s finances.

Well, we’re sad to say that the budget adjustment tool is no more. FIFA 23 was the first game to get rid of the budget slider, and while we’ve hoped that it would make a return in FC 25, it’s still gone. You can open up your finances menu and check your budget, just to see what your money is going on and where you’re earning money back from, but there’s no way to reallocate funds like you were previously able to.

This still feels like a strange change to have made. With so many new features in Career Mode this year, removing quite a major bit of control that players had over their saves is an odd move, and Football Manager players will be all too familiar with how useful it is to reallocate your wage budget at the drop of a hat. Fingers crossed for next year, eh?
