Following a year in early access, Grenaa Games’ cozy city-builder Fabledom is now available to play in full, challenging you to build a respectable kingdom from the ground up. This starts with choosing your realm on a randomly generated world map. Each territory offers up a unique combination of natural features and qualities, including ocean access, forests, and hills. Realms differ in size, too, so careful consideration is paramount in deciding where to settle.
While you can easily refresh the New Game option to find a map that covers all bases, we’ve done some digging to pinpoint the best map seeds Fabledom has to offer newcomers and returning players. Here’s a look at our top picks.

10. Water sources galore
Seed Code: 54866ccc-e3ff-41db-8d46-2064fb2c20
While there’s no shortage of resources on offer in Fabledom, you’ll need direct access to a water source in order to top off your supply of fish. Granted, there are other ways to feed your Fablings, but setting up a fishing dock in the early game is a great way to stave off hunger. This island map features huge lakes and ample access to water without too many rivers to cross.
9. Natural symmetry for creative builders
Seed Code: 4394e849-2f05-4bed-be7f-db28b86f8949
Generally speaking, hills and waterfalls make great fodder for creative builds, though they can be tough to work with in a practical sense. This map code offers up all the scenery with less hassle than similar realms, thanks to the symmetry of its natural formations. Sure, you’ll still need to add a few bridges to cross rivers, but the finished build is worth the hassle.
8. Five falls
Seed Code: aedb8e38-dbce-45b2-b36b-ce09caa2defd
In the same vein, those in search of a gorgeous Fabledom map will find what they’re looking for here. Featuring a whopping five waterfalls flowing from the same incline, this map seed is among the best for builds with a focal point. Again, it’ll take some work to install adequate bridges, but the result will be fit for a flourishing kingdom.
7. The ideal plot for an efficient layout
Seed Code: c658fa93-facc-4b7e-a495-254e0b473251
When it comes to getting your realm up and running in Fabledom, efficiency and desirability go hand-in-hand. It can be tough to strike a balance in the early game since you only have so much land to work with, but as you expand into greater territories, it’s a good idea to keep undesirable industrial projects (stone quarries, coal mines, etc.) a safe distance from residential areas. This is one of the best map seeds for keeping work and home separate as its stone deposits are conveniently grouped together.
6. Beauty and practicality
Seed Code: c48eb9b0-97d1-4908-89ed-381bd241
If you’re not willing to compromise aesthetics in favor of a straightforward path in Fabledom, this is the map for you. From the jump, you have ready access to a water source (and its fish), but your options for expansion are also solid with complete access to the lake on your left and a pig herd to the south. You’ll find Bob Barkskin and an iron deposit in the surrounding areas, too, though progress is required to reap their rewards. Resources aside, this map also features a stunning hillside bookended by two waterfalls.
5. An aesthetically pleasing plot
Seed Code: 621aa3e6-3788-4b04-9b79-669b78262179
Another excellent pick for creative builders, this realm features not one but two double waterfalls. Standard play may be tough here considering the obstacles in the area, but Fabledom’s creative mode can ease the burden of the job, resulting in a beautiful city-centered build with rural outskirts. I’m a big fan of the seaside witch’s cottage, too.
4. A beginner-friendly path
Seed Code: 66832554-1c68-4190-8d4e-57e00d50a4eb
Of all the map seeds I’ve tested in Fabledom, this one is easily the best for beginners. While this realm is naturally hilly, you can toggle this feature off before you begin. From there, the land is easy to work with, leading to new resources in every direction from your starting plot. Large stone deposits are also grouped together, allowing you to keep desirability and resident happiness high.
3. Resource-rich flatlands
Seed Code: 3edde710-39cc-4416-8e7d-9d5725978231
With few inclines to begin with, toggling hills off on this map will take you to manageable flatlands rich in resources. For starters, you’re working with a large realm that provides ample room for expansion in every direction. Top it off with easy access to water sources and dense forests, collecting food and wood is made simple, fueling your residents and their homes without issue.
2. Water-locked industrial areas
Seed Code: 4d23d681-66b7-4333-a682-749dd9c934c2
Depending on your layout preferences, this map seed is one of the best for players with a plan. In general, it’s a safe bet to place industrial structures away from resident homes, maintaining an area’s desirability and keeping new Fablings coming. With that in mind, this realm’s isolated stone deposits are virtually water-locked, which makes executing these projects safe and simple.
1. A little bit of everything
Seed Code: 060d9fd2-e1f8-4e1c-ab59-1ef54d7f801c
As a fan of balance myself, I went with this map on my own Fabledom playthrough. Featuring mostly flat land (save for a beautiful double waterfall to the south), virtually no rivers in need of crossing, and plentiful forests all around, this is a big realm fit for big plans. I tend to build small villages and cities as I go, but it’s versatile enough for an organized layout, too.
