In Dynasty Warriors Origins, gems are special accessories you can equip one at a time to benefit from buffs to weapon attacks, ranging from better range to increased damage and special effects like block chances and health restoration for defeating a set amount of enemies. To craft gems and upgrade existing ones, you’ll need pyroxene, a material you’ll find throughout the world map. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to get pyroxene in Dynasty Warriors Origins.
How to find pyroxene in Dynasty Warriors Origins
To get pyroxene, you’ll need to harvest the orange nodes scattered throughout the world map. These appear at random in all regions and are distinguishable by their crystal shard-like appearance. They’ll start appearing as soon as you access the world map in chapter 1 after the tutorial.
Once you’ve unlocked Eyes of the Sacred Bird, you can tap L2 when exploring the world map to see any pyroxene deposits. These will sparkle to help you spot them. These tend to respawn in random locations after major battles and missions, so it’s worth getting into the habit of a quick pyroxene farming run after progressing the story. You’ll also unlock the Pyroxene Hunter trophy for collecting 100 pyroxene.

How to craft gems with pyroxene
To craft gems with pyroxene, you’ll need to visit an inn or tent at a settlement on the world map. Once there, choose the Craft Gem option. Select the number of pyroxene you want to use in the top left and tap X to craft. x1 pyroxene equates to x1 gem during the crafting process, so if you use 5 pyroxene, you’ll get 5 gems.
Once the crafting process is over, you’ll see what gems you’ve made. If you already have the same gem it will be leveled up as illustrated by the progress bar underneath the gem name. Each time this happens, you’ll unlock added stat boosts and benefits when the gem is equipped.
Every so often when you enter the Create Gems menu, you’ll see a pop up advising that ‘you saw a light in the pyroxene.’ This lets you know what gems will be made ahead of the crafting process , highlighting them in the list on the right. Because gem crafting is randomised and you don’t normally know what you’ll get out of the crafting process, the ‘light’ is useful if you don’t want to waste pyroxene on gems you don’t equip regularly.
