With Dynasty Warriors Origins set to make its return after laying dormant for 7 years, you may very well be wanting to figure out how you’re going to sample its 1 vs 1000 battles. If you’ve been paying out a monthly subscription to Game Pass and are hoping Omega Force’s latest game will land on the Xbox platform, we’ve got some bad news: Dynasty Warriors Origins isn’t currently heading to Game Pass.
With no day-one release on the cards that doesn’t mean it won’t one day reach the service, but as it stands, you’ll need to fork out for a regular copy if you plan on jumping in. There are some tasty pre-order bonuses up for grabs so it may well be worth it. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the details we have around Dynasty Warriors Origins making its way to Game Pass.
Is Dynasty Warriors Origins coming to Game Pass?
As it stands, Dynasty Warriors Origins isn’t launching on Game Pass on January 17, 2025, neither on Xbox or PC, and on none of the multiple tiers that make up the subscription service. Developer Omega Force and publisher Koei Tecmo have both remained tight-lipped on the subject. Xbox hasn’t hinted at the game coming to the service either. Unless the three parties pen some sort of eleventh hour deal, which is unlikely given these are usually arranged months or even years in advance, we’d be more than a little shocked to see it playable on launch day.
Never say never though. Other recent Koei Tecmo releases, such as Wo Long Fallen Dynasty did launch on the service, so there’s certainly scope for the action hack-and-slasher to make its way over at some point in the future. Xbox is particularly good at introducing a steady stream of games to the service and Dynasty Warriors Origins seems like a prime candidate as a post-launch addition. We’ll keep our ear out for any news and update this guide accordingly if and when we hear more.
