This comes at an time where the excitement around the game is at an all time high. Also announced yesterday was a very special Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s set to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Disney. We’re going to break down the box set and whether or not it’s worth it to buy it.

Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s set contents
Let’s start by looking at the contents of the Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s set. Each collector’s set will contain the following:
- Six never before seen alternate art Character cards from The First Chapter and Rise of the Floodborn
- Four booster packs of Rise of the Floodborn.
It’s a rather small box set, but as we can see there is some great collector’s items here. Now, if you’re purely a collector and love the art of these cards, then this box set is definitely worth a buy. But for those who are more speculative buyers, looking for potential investment value, let’s look at the contents individually and see if we can guess how much total value we’re going to get.
Disney100 Disney Lorcana collecter’s set expected value
In order to figure out the rough expected value of this box set, let’s break down each of their components. The easiest place to start is with the price of the booster packs. Booster packs for The First Chapter MSRP at around $6, but unless you happen to luck out and find them in a big box store, you’re going to be paying upwards of $15 for a single pack. Additional product for The First Chapter is being printed and released so hopefully those prices comes down.
The Packs
For our analysis, we’re going to use an average price of $10 per booster. For four boosters, we’re starting out with $40 in value. Now, this number can go up or down depending on the supply and demand for Rise of the Floodborn at the time that this product is released, and arguably, the packs should be a small percentage of the overall value of this product.
The Cards
The big ticket items are going to be the promotional alternate art cards that come in the box. There isn’t any pricing for these cards at the moment, but we have the pricing for the normal versions of the cards. Now a couple of these cards are from Rise of the Floodborn, but we have preorder pricing for these cards which will certainly fluctuate.
- Maui – Demigod: $0.54
- Maleficent – Uninvited: $0.73
- Stitch – Abomination: $0.30
- Genie – Powers Unleashed: $0.48
- Elsa – Gloves Off: $9.79 (Preorder)
- Mickey Mouse – Friendly Face: $50.98 (Preorder)
Now you may be thinking, man those First Chapter cards aren’t very expensive, and yes you’d be right. But there is one thing that we need to consider. Promos and alternate art cards for Disney Lorcana are absurdly expensive and sought after.
For example, the Disney Lorcana D23 promo set is going for over $10,000 for the set. The most expensive individual card being Elsa – Snow Queen at $6,000. Alternate art cards are also wildly expensive, with the cheapest being around $185. The most expensive one comes in at almost $625.
Considering that these promos are for a special anniversary, we don’t know how many of these boxes will be printed. It’s safe to say that these cards individually are going to be very expensive. Most likely, the individual contents of the box will be more than the price of the box itself. But how much does the Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s box cost?
Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s set price and release date
The price for this box has yet to be announced by Ravensburger or Disney. We wouldn’t be surprised if this box set cost anywhere between $150 – $200. While yes, that’s a pretty steep price for a box of six cards and four boosters, if you can afford it and get your hands on it, there’s a really good chance that it’s worth the money.
Now we don’t know how these cards are going to appreciate over time, given that even the most expensive promos haven’t been in circulation for that long. But if other Disney memorabilia is anything to go by, these cards could age like a fine wine, especially if the box is unopened.
The Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s set is due to release on December 1, 2023. This lines up with the big box store release of Rise of the Floodborn. We don’t know if this box set is going to be a Disney online store exclusive item, or if it will make its way to local game stores and other major retailers.
And that’s all we have about the Disney100 Disney Lorcana collector’s box set! This set looks very exciting for collectors.
