Searching for the Death Stranding 2 F3 crater location? If you’ve got your eye on securing that coveted Platinum trophy, you’ll need to unlock The Scars Left by Giants trophy. This one tasks you with arriving at the BT nexus in the F3 crater. It’s not much to go on given the size of the Australia region and visiting a nexus full of eerie BTs doesn’t sound all that appealing.

Finding the F3 crater is easy once you know where to look and getting the trophy to pop is a lot simpler than it sounds. In this guide, we’ll explain where to find the F3 crater location and how to reach the BT nexus in Death Stranding 2.

Where to find the F3 crater in Death Stranding 2

To find the F3 crater location, you’ll need to travel to the crater island in the very north of the Australia region. The island is just north of Heartman’s Lab, east of the Mine near F3 Crater, and west of The Pioneer.

To reach the island, you can either walk through the water separating it from the mainland by using the Odradek to scan for the yellow depth patches and sticking to them. Better yet, just use a Coffin Board to surf across the tar. Alternatively, you can build a Cargo Catapult (available at F5 East Distribution Center after completing Main Order 034 in Episode 8 Deluge) using a PCC Lv2 on the shore then launch Sam over to the island.

How to reach the BT nexus in Death Stranding 2

Once you’re on the shores of the island, all you need to do to get the trophy to pop is walk up the ridge overlooking the tar lake at the centre of the crate. There’s no need to venture beyond the edge or descend into the tar.

Now, if you want to get the trophy as the game intended, you’ll need to take on Sub Order 121 Rescue the Adventurer Who Vanished into Thin Air.  Once you’ve picked up the Sub Order from The Adventurer, head to the spot marked on the map south of the shelter. Approach the largest of the floating BTs and you’ll be teleported to the F3 crater. This will unlock the trophy if you haven’t previously visited.

Wade through the tar towards the island at the centre to find The Adventurer. You’ll then need to either defeat two mantis catcher BTs or escape by getting gobbled up by the floating BT. Bring The Adventurer back to his shelter to complete the order.
