Will mods work in Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty?
Yes, mods will work with Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. However, you will find that your mods have been disabled at first if you’re playing on Steam and Epic. The official CD Projekt Red Twitter account says that “mods will be “automatically disabled for the launch of Phantom Liberty” to prevent any issues from arising that may be caused by mods before they get their latest update from the mods creators. As far as we can tell, GOG copies of the game are unaffected.
Now, you’ll be free to reenable those mods, but be aware they could break your game if they’ve not yet been updated by the mod authors, so be sure to check or otherwise be aware that you re-activate them at your own risk.
Of course, it’s currently unclear which mods will negatively affect saved files and which will survive the updates. Nevertheless, the developers have recommended uninstalling mods or starting over from scratch through a recent announcement as they stated the “sheer amount of changes could cause more issues than usual.” After all, this is the ideal way to play through the new and definitive Cyberpunk 2077 experience, which has already received plenty of plaudits from fans and critics alike.
