Wondering how to solve the Blue Prince Trading post puzzle? Once you’ve gained access to the western grounds, you’ll have the option to draft a new Outer Room. Among them is the Trading Post where you can swap unwanted items for new ones to help progress through Mt. Holly. To the left of the counter is a small cube with six coloured squares: four yellow, four grey, and one pink.
It’s a puzzle if we’ve even seen one, especially considering that Blue Prince is stacked with them, including the Parlor Game, Dartboard Puzzle, and Boudoir safe. In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to find the solution for the Trading Post puzzle in Blue Prince.
Blue Prince Trading Post cube puzzle solution
To solve the Trading Post puzzle, you’ll need to shift the yellow squares to the four corners of the cube. However, you can only interact with the yellow and pink squares. Each one behaves according to different rules, as follows:
- Yellow squares – tapping a yellow square will move it up one square. Never down, never left, never right – always up. The yellow square can take the place of both grey squares or the pink one.
- Pink square – rotates any adjacent yellow squares counter clock-wise around the pink square with the gap between any yellow squares touching the pink square respected as they move around.
Sounds confusing, but it’s easier in practice. The cube starts with the layout in the image above. You can reset the puzzle at any time by tapping any of the corner mountain peak buttons that don’t have an adjacent yellow square. To solve the puzzle, follow these steps:
- Tap the two yellow squares in the middle row to shift them upwards.
- Click the pink square twice to shift the yellow square in the top middle below the pink square.
- Tap the yellow square on the middle left and it will swap places with the pink square above.
- Click the bottom middle yellow square twice so that it’s in the top middle position.
- Tap the pink square four times to shift the yellow squares into the corners on the left side of the cube.

Now all you need to do is hit the mountain peak buttons in the four corners to solve the Trading Post puzzle. The cube will open, revealing a coin. Click on it to be rewarded with the Allowance Token, a permanent upgrade which raises your daily coin allowance by 2.
