After finding your first piece of Starmetal, you’ll start the Forged in Star-Stuff side quest. If you head back to Gweneth the blacksmith in Paradis in Dawnshore and question her about the strange metal, she’ll suggest that there’s another blacksmith in another city who can help. She suggests Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks. From there, you can talk to Merchant Stephen in Fior mes Iverno and then Kampeki in Thirdborn, and lastly Stockkeeper Eberk in Galawain’s Tusks.

All three will point you to the forgemaster of Solace Keep in Galawain’s Tusks, Forgemaster Dela. Talk to him and select the option to show him the Starmetal. He’ll offer to make the Moonstrike Arquebus or the Meteor Blade. Take your pick. Any further pieces can be used to improve either of the two weapons to Ondra’s Offense and Heavenstrike, respectively.
It’s a ways off yet. In the meantime, you can start gathering fragments. In this guide, we’ll walk you through all the Avowed Starmetal locations we’ve come across so far that you’ll need for the Forged in Star-Stuff side quest.
Goldless Altar, Dawnshore
The first piece is found at the Godless altar in the southeast of Dawnshore. It’s just south of Emerald Stair Gatehouse Beacon. Defeat the xaurips, then grab the Fragment of Starmetal on the altar.
Damp Burrow, Emerald Stair
You can find a piece of Starmetal in the Damp Burrow cave in the northeast of the Emerald Stair. There’s a large enemy called Iscern, presumably an ogre guarding the cave, so either defeat him or rush in, grab the Starmetal, and get out.
Abandoned Mine, Shatterscarp
You can find a third chunk of Starmetal in the Abandoned Mine to the north of Thirdborn in Shatterscarp. You can reach the abandoned mine via a tunnel to the west. Make your way to the very top of the mine using the scaffolding, ledges, and caves, then head south to a cliff overlooking the Thirdborn Party Camp. The Starmetal is on the path just before the cliff.
Ash Forest, Galawain’s Tusks
The final piece of Starmetal is found in the Ash Forest in the very far northwest of Galawain’s Tusks. Check the image above for the exact location. You’re looking for a pit surrounded by rocks jutting upwards with a crater at its center. You’ll find the Starmetal at the center of the crate. However, picking it up with summon the Destul bounty boss.
