In keeping with established RPG etiquette, Avowed runs a robust leveling system that’s crucial to piecing together various builds – magic, warrior, ranger, and so on. Every time you level up, you’ll gain an Ability Point along with an Attribute Point you can allocate as you see fit to unlock new abilities or boost specific stats.
As with most RPGs, there’s a max level that acts as a hard lock on how many skills and attributes you can unlock for any given playthrough. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the max level cap in Avowed.

What is the max level in Avowed?
As it stands, the current level cap in Avowed is level 30. To reach level 30, you’ll need to complete the story along with every side quest, bounty, treasure map, and companion quest. Alongside, you’ll also need to find every Ancient Memory, Fast Travel Beacon, Party Camp, Pargrun Cache, and Strangled Adra in every region – Dawnshore, Emerald Stair, Shatterscarp, and Galawain’s Tusks. Even then, you won’t tick up to level 30 until the final main story quests. Any XP earned beyond level 30 won’t contribute to leveling up your Godlike, but you will unlock the Peak Performance achievement.
Once you hit level 30, you’ll have unlocked a total of 27 Attribute Points and 29 Ability Points to allocate as you see fit. As for companions, they aren’t so much level capped, but you can only unlock a max of 8 Ability Points for each of the four – Kai, Marius, Giatta, and Yatzli.
It might seem like a low cap, especially compared to other RPGs with caps anywhere for level 60 to 100, but Avowed’s leveling is paced quite slow and you’ll need to amass a whooping 449,500 XP to reach level 30. It does, however, force you to hone in on specific builds, more or less removing the ability to craft hybrid characters that excel in more than one area. In other words, you’ll want to go all in on magic or melee damage, for example, rather than allocate points across the three ability trees – fighter, ranger, and wizard.
