Simon Miller, Editor-in-Chief – E3 Prep, The Office

A24255b7310330025ead91e498b

As exciting as E3 can be, ensuring everything is planned in takes a while so my gaming time this week was sucked into such an endevaour.

It does mean over the next week or so you can expect VideoGamer to be covering everything you want to see, though, and some surprises, too. Like Battletoads*.

*I don’t know if Battletoads is going to be at E3. To be honest, I don’t really care. It’s Battletoads. Yes, it was alright back in the day, but it’s 2014.

Tom Orry, Editorial Director – Watch Dogs, PS4

I’m only about an hour into Watch Dogs on PS4, but I’m really not feeling it. The opening mission felt like a terrible way to introduce the game, and the awkward scene with Aiden and his sister felt way short of the kind of storytelling seen in GTA 5.

I’m sure the game will improve, but I’m not desperate to get back into it during my spare time. The city doesn’t excite and the visuals, outside of rainy night-time scenes, don’t impress as much as they ought to given this was billed as the real start of next-gen.

Brett Phipps, Staff Writer – Mario Kart 8, Wii U

Miller’s gone surprisingly quiet on our rivalry following the latest VGVS. Now, I don’t want to say he’s outright surrendered, but the silence is deafening.

I’m having a blast with Mario Kart, though, playing a ton of online races and flitting between delirium and rage. The frogging exploit has put a dampener on things, especially when it comes to the Time Trials, so hopefully Nintendo patch that out soon.

Also, stop being a paranoid parent and allow in-game chat. How am I supposed to savour my victory if I can’t hear other people moaning about their loss? Hopefully Miller requests some more local versus so I can enjoy some more office wins soon.

Steve Burns, Reviews and Features Editor – Call of Duty: Ghosts, Xbox One

This week I’ve been playing Preparing For E3, Part II: The Return. It’s an exciting game that combines action, adventure, horror, and puzzle elements. So far I’m not that far through, but it has potential. 7/10.

Apart from that I’ve been playing Call of Duty DLC, which is as uninspiring as ever, as well as Yet More Fifa. You know how it is.
