Tom Orry, Editorial Director – Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, PS4

I need to get back on Doom on Xbox One, but I always seem to have my PS4 controller next to me so the PS4 gets used a lot more because I’m lazy. Anyway, I bought Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture in a recent PSN sale, so decided to give it a go. First impressions are that it looks lovely and that maybe my controller is broken.

Exploring the village for about 10 minutes revealed some gloriously rendered buildings (the pub is excellent) and a nice play area for kids. It also saw the camera spin wildly every now and again when I gently nudged the right analogue stick. Hopefully I just had a low battery, but if it is broken at least I’ll have to pick up the Xbox One pad again.

Steve Burns, Deputy Editor – Beat Cop, PC, This is the Police PC, Hitman Summer Bonus Episodes, PS4

Well well well. Looks like I’ve been playing quite a lot this week. With Tam McGleish unavailable it fell to me to preview two upcoming copper corruption simulators, Beat Cop and This is the Police. The former is a point and click where you patrol a block in New York, giving parking tickets and taking bribes. The latter is a resource management game where you send out officers and take bribes. Both focus on the mundane elements of corruption, how it’s easy to slide into it and not see it as anything really special. Both also have their problems, but are well worth checking out.

Oh, and there was also Hitman Summer Bonus Episodes, which was also a very cool remix of some very good Hitman levels. Robot dinosaurs, yo. What’s not to love?

Dave Scammell, News Editor – Pokémon Go, iPhone

Pokemon go

This week I played a game about chickens where you click the screen. It’s great. I also played Pokemon Go whenever I went outside. There was a Pokemon at East Croydon station.
