Most Football Manager games fall into the same price bracket, only fluctuating due to promotions, platform-specific discounts, and regional pricing differences. For reference, Football Manager 2024 cost around £45 in the UK – an absolute bargain considering the sheer number of hours most players sink into the game.
But what if I told you there’s an ultra-rare Football Manager game that costs £400? And I had no idea it even existed until recently? Let’s dive into what this Football Manager game is, why it’s so rare, and why it comes with such a hefty price tag.

What is this super rare Football Manager game?
In April 2014, Sony and Sports Interactive teamed up to release a special PlayStation Vita bundle featuring Football Manager Classic 2014. The package included a black PS Vita 2000 model, a 4GB memory card, and a voucher to download FM Classic 14 from the PlayStation Store.
Football Manager Classic 2014 was the first handheld version to feature a 3D match engine, making the Football Manager experience more dynamic than ever before. Additionally, the game supported cross-platform play with the PC version, allowing players to seamlessly continue their managerial careers across devices.
A big leap forward, no doubt – but that alone doesn’t explain why it’s so expensive. After all, Football Manager has introduced plenty of innovative features over the years. So why is this one version of the game worth so much?
Reasons why it’s so expensive
Over time, this particular PS Vita bundle has become increasingly rare, causing its market value to skyrocket. A recent eBay listing has it going for £414.71 – a massive price jump from its original cost, proving just how sought-after it has become.
But what’s driving this absurd price tag? A few key factors:
- Limited release – The bundle was only available in the UK and had a very short production run, instantly making it a rare collector’s item.
- Nostalgia for handheld gaming – As handheld consoles like the PS Vita become retro collectibles, special edition bundles tied to beloved game franchises are seeing a spike in demand.
- PS Vita Modding – The price of Vita handhelds has skyrocketed in recent years due to the rise of modding on the handheld.
The second most-expensive Football Manager game
While the Football Manager Classic 2014 PS Vita Bundle is, by far, the most expensive game in the series, it’s not the only pricey entry. Via PriceCharting, a service for tracking the prices of games and collectibles, the second most-expensive FM game is also worth a pretty penny.
As it turns out, a sealed copy of Football Manager 2010 on PC is, for some reason, worth $110 with a graded copy worth $121. However, just a simple complete copy, including the disc, the manual and the box, is worth $55, almost as much as it was on launch.
Final thoughts
When you factor in all of this – plus the incredibly dedicated Football Manager fanbase – it’s no surprise this bundle has become a highly prized collector’s item.
Would I buy it myself? Absolutely not. I struggle to justify spending a fiver on a meal deal, let alone dropping £400 on a Football Manager collectible.
But if retro gaming and Football Manager are your thing, then honestly, there are worse ways to spend your money. Let’s just hope this isn’t what Football Manager 2026 ends up costing when it finally gets released.
