Welcome to Heads-up, our weekly feature which gives you an at-a-glance run-down on the games you’ll be able to buy or rent this weekend. Every Monday we’ll pick out the best of the bunch, link to our reviews and previews and keep you in the video game loop so you have enough time to pre-order for Friday’s post. Time to smash open your piggy bank so you can spend its coin-shaped guts.

Following hot on the heels of last week’s Sleeping Dogs and New Super Mario Bros. 2 is THQ’s massive adventure Darksiders II. Martin thought it was an epic quest worth going on, awarding it an impressive 8/10 in our Darksiders II review.

Also definitely worth picking up is the PC edition of Dark Souls, with the Prepare to Die subtitle indicating some new content not found on Xbox 360 and PS3. Assuming the PC port isn’t abysmal, this should be the definitive version of game we already liked a lot.

Worth a look

Activision and High Moon’s Transformers sequel is looking promising, but we’ve yet to get final code so are holding off from giving it a full recommendation. Still, there’s a decent demo to try out on Xbox LIVE and PSN, so you can make your own mind up.
