Fixing Football Manager’s disgusting ReGen Faces is actually really easy, and here’s how to do it

Let’s be completely honest, the regen faces on Football Manager are terrible. When compared to other games, pretty much any game released in the last 20 years, it can actually be a bit embarrassing. But also, this lack of good-quality regen faces is inexplicable because, if anything, they seem to have got worse.

If you compare regen faces from an old game like Football Manager 2012, they actually looked more realistic then compared to the most modern game in the series. But whilst we wait for Football Manager to stop dropping the ball on regen faces, there are still ways you can get realistic looks in the game.

Faces that increase the immersion and make your fictional gaming world feel that bit more realistic. This can be the difference between loving a save, and just not being that interested. So in these next few paragraphs, I’ll go through all the workarounds there are that I’ve found. This is without a doubt the best regen face updater you can get for Football Manager 2024. Immediately the transformation is incredible. They’ve gone from an unrealistic human that looks like it has dirt covering his face to a regen that looks like an actual person.

And if you’re still stuck after all of that, there’s, obviously, one Reddit user who has explained how to install it in detail as well.

I appreciate there’s a lot of instructions and it’s not the easiest thing to install, but the change it can have for your game experience is life changing. If you have no need for a huge regen facepack. And just want to transform some of your favourite players into realistic looking people. If you want to give a real life face to your advanced forward wonderkid from Argentina, then you can also do that yourself. One Reddit user shared how you can use chatGPT to generate realistic photos of some of your wonderkids. His instructions for doing it are fairly simple and you can find them here. Obviously this will be difficult to do on a big scale – but if you want just a few transformed, this could be the hack for you.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully this year when Football Manager 2026 comes out, we’ll finally get some good regen faces. There has been a two year gap, so you’d hope that this issue would be on the agenda and there would be a significantly noticeable improvement.

A lot of people say they don’t pay for the graphics, but improving the graphics will be huge for getting more casual players involved and interested in Football Manager. And even if you say you don’t care about graphics, having regens you can recognise and look human will up the immersion and enjoyment for everyone.
