The console war is fought everywhere these days, but the internet seems to be where people are most vocal. It also serves to give each console its own set of downloadable content, fuelling the war even more. Each week we'll give you a run-down of what's available to download on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and declare a winner.

Note: This round-up is based on UK releases to each console's online service and does not include premium video content. Releases outside of the UK could vary.

PlayStation 3 - PSN

With an excellent full game on PSN and numerous pieces of DLC for some quality games, it's a very solid line-up for the PlayStation Store this week. OutRun Online Arcade is well worth its £7.99 price tag, delivering some of the best pure arcade racing you're going to find. There's also some great free content for LittleBigPlanet (Monkey King costume) and F.E.A.R. 2 (Toy Soldiers Map Pack).

On the paid DLC front there is a booster pack for fun PSN game Magic Ball, new cars for Midnight Club LA, new levels for PixelJunk Eden and a trio of downloads for SEGA's Valkyria Chronicles. Add to this some new tracks for Guitar Hero World Tour and Rock Band and and you should be able to find something worth downloading.

Wii

Wii owners hoping for some Virtual Console releases to match the recently released Nintendo 64 classic Majora's Mask are out of luck. Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars is a pretty terrible game from the Master System that is never worth its 500 Nintendo Points asking price. Secret Command (Rambo: First Blood II in the US) is a lot more fun, especially when played with a friend, but it's still a long way from falling into the classic category.

And the winner of this week's DLC Royal Rumble is...

PS3

PS3 and Xbox 360 content is very similar this week, but thanks to a smattering of excellent DLC for a couple of PS3 exclusives, it's Sony's console that gets 1st place on the podium. 360 takes a solid second, while the Wii languishes in third with two fairly disappointing Virtual Console releases.
