The console war is fought everywhere these days, but the internet seems to be where people are most vocal. It also serves to give each console its own set of downloadable content, fuelling the war even more. Each week we'll give you a run-down of what's available to download on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, and declare a winner.

Note: This round-up is based on UK releases to each console's online service and does not include premium video content. Releases outside of the UK could vary.

PlayStation 3 - PSN

Dlcfeb29ps3.jpg

It's a very solid week for PSN, with the quirky Noby Noby Boy being of most interest to PS3 gamers who have had a decent share of novel ideas in recent history. Rather amazingly the Euro PlayStation Store also finally received Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, although with Street Fighter IV now out you have to wonder if it's arrived a little too late. Still, it's a very good remake of the classic fighter.

There's also a tonne of add-on content, with the Mirror's Edge time trial pack, the Fantasy Plaza pack for Skate 2, four legendary cars for Burnout Paradise, WipEout costumes for LittleBigPlanet and the usual new collection of tracks for Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour.

Xbox 360 - Marketplace

Dlcxbox360.jpg

It's the week many Xbox 360 owners have been waiting for: the first GTA 4 DLC is out. The Lost and Damned may cost 1600 MS Points, but it'll be the best MS Points you'll have ever spent. The single-player content could last you 15 hours and then you've got multiplayer on top of that. Simply brilliant. The full games available can't really compare, but Grabbed by the Ghoulies is definitely a rather under-rated Xbox game that's worth a look.

There's also a tonne of other add-on content, with the Mirror's Edge time trial pack, the Fantasy Plaza pack for Skate 2, new content for XBLA game The Maw, four legendary cars for Burnout Paradise, and the usual new collection of tracks for Rock Band, Guitar Hero World Tour and Lips. If you're into changing your avatar's clothes then you might also like to take a look at the free The Lost and Damned clothing, allowing you to get that biker look.

Head to page 3 for a look at this week's Wii releases.

Wii

Dlcfeb22wii.jpg

The Wii struggles to compete even when the PS3 and 360 offer pretty mediocre content, so this week it's really got its work cut out. Wolf of the Battlefield is SEGA's home console port of Capcom's classic arcade game. While we think it's aged quite badly, if you fancy some old-school gun-shooting top-down gameplay it'll probably deliver the goods. Winter Games, originally released on the Commodore 64, is only 500 Wii Points but not exactly what we'd call a must buy. If you remember this fondly it's probably worth a look for nostalgia's sake, but little else.

Virtual Console

Wolf of the Battlefield - Mercs (SEGA Mega Drive): 800 Wii Points

Winter Games (Commodore 64): 500 Wii Points

And the winner of this week's DLC Royal Rumble is...

Xbox 360

With The Lost and Damned, the single best piece of DLC we've ever seen, the Xbox 360 is a worthy victor this week. The PS3 and 360 have plenty to offer this week so neither party is likely to be disappointed, but the Wii only manages to offer two fairly uninspiring Virtual Console releases.
