The Breakdown

0-10 points: Casual gamer

We love casual gamers at VideoGamer.com, but they just don’t know their Factor 5s from their Level Fives. While Wii Sports fills your day with fun and good health, you don’t spend time to read the latest news or to see what people are talking about on the forums. Rejoice in your innocence and get back to that game of Smarty Pants you were playing on the Wii.

11-24 points: Fisher Price – My first console

Gaming for you is still new. When you play games, no matter how well they’re received by the press, you see good in them. You haven’t lived the video gamer life long enough to know any better. In time you’ll move up the ladder, dropping your current favourite magazine (Official Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo) for EDGE (maybe even importing it to your country from the UK) and dare to post on NeoGaf.

25-39 points: Fanboy

Despite the fact that the system wars today are nothing compared to what took place in the playgrounds of schools in the pre-internet era, where the arguing had to take place face to face, fanboyism is still rife. A score in this range will likely point to a strong knowledge of video games in one particular area, with awareness of non-loved platforms falling someway short. Branch out to other consoles and you’ll have a chance of moving up the ladder next year.

40-44 points: Hardcore gamer

Thanks for taking the time stop reading NeoGaf to read our little quiz. You guys live and breathe video games, but sometimes you’re a tad blinkered and focus too much on one platform to see the bigger picture. Just think, it’s only another 10 months before the September 08 NPD figures are released and all the fanboy posting can start again.

45-50 points: You are D.A.R.Y.L. – nuff said.

That’s it. Tell your friends and challenge them for video game knowledge supremacy. See you all next year.
