It may have come down to the wire, but Hidetaka Suehiro's next project, The Good Life, reached it's Kickstarter goal on May 5 and is scheduled to launch on PC and PS4 in November 2019. While nothing has been confirmed as of yet, the eccentric White Owls CEO has heavily hinted at Switch version too.

We recently had the chance to ask Swery a few questions on the game itself, as well as whether he prefers cats or dogs, and if he liked the latest season of Twin Peaks. Only hard-hitting questions, obviously.

Congratulations on a successful Kickstarter! Has it been a stressful campaign? How are you feeling now it's finished?

It was amazing to see the campaign get backed by a total of over 12,600 backers. So we're very happy, and thankful for all the support. Now it's our job to make sure we create the best game possible. It'll take us a bit, but please wait for it!

Why did you go to Kickstarter after the Fig campaign?

One of the main goals with this project was to gather a portion of the funds through crowdfunding, so that we as the developers could own the IP and operate on the same level as a publisher. So after the Fig campaign, we had no choice but to find another crowdfunding site to try again on, and we picked Kickstarter.

What did you learn from making Deadly Premonition that has been useful in developing The Good Life?

In total there are too many to list, but one big thing I learned was how wonderful it is to give players freedom of choice. Ever since finishing DP, that's something I've focused on with every one of my games. Another great thing about getting DP out the door was that it made it easier for me to make DP-ish games, because other people finally started to understand them.

What's your favourite part-time job Naomi can do in The Good Life?

I don't know what my favorite will be, because we haven't made any of the jobs yet!

Which do you think is better: cats or dogs?

If I chose one of those, Sharapova [Editor note: the monkey that Swery carries with him everywhere] would get mad at me.

Are you anticipating The Good Life will find big success in the furry community because of the animal transformations?

I REALLY want it to find big success in the furry community. You'll be able to customize your animal forms in the game, you know. If a lot of furries played this game, I would be super happy.

How have you been researching life in small British towns? We recommend watching a lot of Midsomer Murders.

Now that the Kickstarter is complete, I plan to visit a British town with G-rounding to do research. Also, Dylan Cuthbert from Q Games will be our British Ambassador for the project and give it a strict check, so I'm going to study hard. I'll watch Midsomer Murders, but can it really teach me any more than Hot Fuzz already has?

What did you think of the latest season of Twin Peaks?

PERFECT.

What was going to happen in D4? Because it ended on a cliffhanger and we'd really like to know, please!

NEVER.

Also can you please make Deadly Premonition 2?

Maybe if people start a petition on change.org. Thanks for the interview! I'm going to work really hard on making The Good Life into a great game, so please cheer me on!

I Love You All!
SWERY

The Good Life is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4 (and *maybe* Nintendo Switch) in November 2019.
