With over 9,000 reviews and a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam, BattleBit Remastered has become the go-to game for those looking to scratch that massive multiplayer Battlefield-esque gameplay loop that EA themselves have struggled to emulate with recent entries in the series. With the game recently topping the sales charts on Steam and reaching a new record 52,000 concurrent players, fans can’t get enough of this indie hit.

The game’s Reddit forum has been very active the last few days since BattleBit Remastered entered early access on July 15. One user by the name of Alex_Hovhannisyan said BattleBit Remastered reminded them “of the Bad Company 2 and BF3 eras of the Battlefield franchise when folks were running around and just having a good time with their mates.” They continued by noting, “It feels like Battlebit took note of everything good from other shooters and combined them into a fun game that’s somehow both casual and hardcore at the same time.”

Alex was quick to point out that a major selling point for the game has been the proximity chat that they describe as, “Most of the time someone’s having a laugh, imitating death noises, screaming medic, or all of the above and it’s just so hilariously chaotic.” Another user shared this sentiment saying, “It blows my mind not only how non-toxic voice chat is, but how friendly it is. People thank others for heals, transport, etc., even when it’s to their detriment to do so because it could give their position away, but it’s really cool.”

User paultester showed off their appreciation for the game including a clip of them attaching a mine to a drone before flying it into a group of enemies with the caption, “Is my K/D positive? No. Am I having a good time? Yes.” This post pretty much encapsulates the BattleBit Remastered community right now. The game’s dedication to proximity chat combined with the fun sandbox elements of large-scale combat like the old Battlefield games has drawn in players of all skill levels who just want to have fun.
