Kingdom Hearts 3 is getting a series of free and paid-for DLC, director Tetsuya Nomura confirmed during a chat with Dengeki Online (via IGN).

It's possible one of the free updates may feature the leaked Critical Mode, although Nomura-san said that any free content will most probably arrive as smaller updates to be released as soon as they are completed.

The paid DLC meanwhile will be meatier and likely grouped together for a release by the end of the year. Nomura also revealed that this content will probably expand Kingdom Hearts 3's story, specifically characters that were not fleshed out fully during the game.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in January, and has shipped over five million copies worldwide.
