Sharknado: The Video Game, an infinite runner for iOS devices, will launch later this month from developer Other Ocean and publisher Majesco Entertainment, Syfy and The Asylum have announced.
Other Ocean is the developer behind recent iOS infinite runner NBA Rush.
Coming to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices, Sharknado: The Video Game sees players assume the role of Fin and must race to destroy a series of shark-infested tornadoes which are threatening to destroy New York City.
“When Majesco approached us about making a Sharknado game, we said ‘yes’ before they’d even finished asking,” said game designer Frank Cifaldi. “The game we came up with is very much in the spirit of the films: ridiculous, overblown, yet oddly sincere. We can’t wait for fans to sink their teeth into it.”
The game will launch prior to the July 30 premiere of Sharknado 2: The Second One on Syfy.
