Nintendo UK has denied that production of the GameCube has ended. Speaking to Eurogamer, a Nintendo UK spokesperson said that global production of the console and games has not stopped.

I can confirm that globally, Nintendo is still continuing production of GameCube hardware and GameCube software,” said the spokesperson.

Nintendo of America’s VP Perrin Kaplan recently said that the production of the GameCube had ended, but that there’s still plenty of inventory to be sold to consumers.

Either way, it looks as thought he GameCube is on the way out. The Wii has full backwards compatibility with GameCube software and big software releases such as Super Paper Mario, once a GameCube title, are now heading only to Wii.
