Metro: Last Light, the sequel to 2010’s Metro 2033, has been delayed and is now set for release in the first quarter of 2013, THQ has said.

THQ said that developer 4A Games needs extra time to deliver a more polished experience.

Metro: Last Light places players in the midst of a civil war for control over a doomsday device that threatens to destroy humanity forever. THQ promises a graphical benchmark on both console and PC.

The game also introduces post-apocalyptic online warfare set within the dark Russian ruins.
