Halo 2’s single player campaign may not run at 1080p resolution, according to 343 Industries franchise director Frank O’Connor.
In a post on NeoGAF, O’Connor discussed the reasons why Halo 2 might suffer a resolution dip. “There’s a chance that H2 [Halo 2] Anniversary campaign could run at a different resolution to accommodate the frame buffer,” he said, suggesting the need for the game to run both the new and old engine being the issue. “But the intent is to overcome that hurdle.”
O’Connor goes on to make a cheeky remark about how the game will progress before launch. “We’ll keep showing progress throughout the year using a process we call ‘game development'”.
Recent images released from the Collection showed how much better the games look on the new engine, it won’t be long before we see how much of a difference the resolution drop will affect the Halo 2 campaign, if 343 are unable to “overcome” the hurdle.
