GTA 5 racked up over two million mentions on Twitter over the 24 hour period covering the game’s launch, Twitter has revealed.
To put this into perspective, two million is twice the amount of times Gareth Bale was mentioned during the final day of his transfer from Tottenham to Real Madrid earlier this month.
“There have been more than 7 million Tweets about @GarethBale11 during the transfer window, 1m in the last 24 hours,” Twitter UK wrote at the time.
Furthermore, over six million Tweets about the Royal Baby were made during the two day period between Kate Middleton going into hospital and the moment the baby was named.
